Vice-Chancellor of Umeå University visited Kyushu University

Prof. Hans Adolfsson, Vice-Chancellor of Umeå University in Sweden visited Kyushu University Ito Campus on October 11, 2024. Both Umeå University and Kyushu University are MIRAI Coordinating Universities so this opportunities was brough more close relathinship under the MIRAI umbrerra. He also attended STS Forum in Kyoto, Sweden-Japan Days at OIST in Okinawa during his visit.

Prof. Adolfsson visited two labs: Prof. Shuji Mori, and Prof. Vargas Danilo as a first part. These professors belong to Faculty of Information Science and Electrical Engineering (ISEE) and they gave research presentations and lab tour.

As a latter part, Prof. Adolfsson visited the Center for Organic Photonics
and Electronics Research(OPERA) guided by Prof. Yoichi Tsuchiya.

His visit conluded with a meeting with Prof. Natalie Konomi, Vice President for International Affairs at Kyushu University. We had a good discussion for further collaboration between Sweden and Japan, especially under the MIRAI consortium.
