Deepening AI Research Collaboration between Kyushu University and Luleå University of Technology

-Signing the Academic Cooperation and Student Exchange Agreements through MIRAI Connections-

On November 1^st 2023, Kyushu University and Luleå University of Technology (LTU) came into their new endeavor as signing the academic cooperation and student exchange agreements. The agreements are faculty/department specific and cover the Faculty/Graduate School of Information Science and Electrical Engineering at Kyushu University and Department of Computer Science, Electrical and Space Engineering at LTU.

This wonderful outcome came to existing active collaboration especially between Profs. Seiichi Uchida at Kyushu University and Marcus Liwicki at LTU through the field of AI. They also have collaborated mentoring PhD students and using JSPS Fellowship Program several times to send researchers from LTU to Kyushu University. They finally met in person again at Ito Campus of Kyushu University, as a venue of MIRAI 2.0 Research & Innovation Week 2022. Then, they booted considering further step as signing MoU.

This case in one of MIRAI’s successful outcomes not only to multilateral exchanges but also to much deepening the bilateral exchanges.
